Overview

meow-me is a cat personality app. We built it to be simple, private, and honest about what it does with your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how.

What we collect

Your cat's information

When you use meow-me, you provide your cat's name and photo. Your cat's photo is processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework to remove the background. It is never uploaded to our servers.

Your cat's audio recording is sent to our servers for acoustic analysis. The recording is processed to generate five personality scores and is not retained after analysis is complete.

Your cat's name and personality scores are stored on our servers to power the app experience.

An anonymous identifier

meow-me assigns your device an anonymous ID stored securely in your iOS Keychain. This ID has no connection to your name, email, or any personal information. It persists across app reinstalls to help restore purchases.

Purchase history

If you make a purchase, transaction information is processed through RevenueCat and Apple. We store a record of which attributes you have unlocked, tied to your anonymous ID only.

Usage analytics

We collect anonymous usage data — such as which screens are visited and which features are used — to understand how the app is being used and improve it. This data is collected through PostHog and is not linked to any personal information.

What we don't collect

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your location
• Any information that identifies you personally

How we use your data

We use your data solely to operate the app — to generate your cat's personality profile, store your unlocked attributes, and restore your purchases. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except as described in this policy (RevenueCat for purchase processing, PostHog for anonymous analytics).

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers hosted by Railway. We take reasonable measures to protect it, but no system is perfectly secure.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@meow-me.com. We will delete your anonymous ID and all associated data within 30 days.

Children

meow-me is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last changed. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
