By downloading or using meow-me, you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not avoided.
The App
meow-me is an iOS application that analyses cat vocalisations and generates personality profiles matched to historical figures. It is made by Shaun Adams, operating as an independent developer.
meow-me is for entertainment purposes. The results are not a scientific personality assessment, veterinary opinion, or behavioural analysis. Your cat is not actually Napoleon Bonaparte. Probably.
Purchases & Tokens
meow-me is free to download. The historical figure match is always free. Additional attributes are unlocked using tokens, purchased through the App Store.
- All purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's payment terms.
- Tokens are consumable. Once spent to unlock an attribute, they are not refundable.
- Restore Purchases does not restore consumed tokens. It is provided as a courtesy for cases where a purchase did not credit correctly.
- Prices may change. You will always see the current price before purchasing.

Your Data
meow-me collects the minimum necessary to function.
- Cat recordings are analysed on our servers to extract acoustic properties. Raw audio is not stored after analysis.
- Cat photos are processed on-device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
- An anonymous identifier is stored locally on your device to preserve your cat's dossier across sessions.
- No account or sign-in is required. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifying information unless you contact us directly.

The Matching System
Figure matches are generated by meow-me's acoustic analysis system, which scores vocalisations across five axes and matches the result against a curated library of 128 historical figures.
- Results vary based on the recording. The same cat may receive different matches across sessions.
- Historical figures are used in a fictional, humorous context. They are not affiliated with or endorsed by meow-me.
- Descriptions of historical figures are original creative works. Any resemblance to official biographical material is incidental.
Intellectual Property
All content within meow-me — including copy, card designs, attribute descriptions, and the matching system — is the original work of meow-me and protected by copyright.
You may share results using the in-app share feature. You may not reproduce, reverse-engineer, or redistribute app content without permission.
Service & Availability
meow-me requires an internet connection to analyse recordings and retrieve results. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will communicate significant changes where possible.
Limitation of Liability
meow-me is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.
We are not responsible for any decisions made based on your cat's personality profile. Including dietary ones.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of meow-me after changes constitutes acceptance. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
